A Life Teen Missionary!

God has called and I have said YES!

I will be entering the Life Teen Mission program this September as a full time Missionary! Praise the Lord. I will be serving the local community, living with other missionaries and spreading the word of God in my daily life. I ask you to consider joining me on this mission in the form of prayers and monetary donations. The next few months are packed leading up to the official start of the mission year.

June 24-August 6th I will be at Camp Tepeyac in Prescott AZ being the camp photographer.

September 2012-September 2014 I will be saying YES to God daily on the journey he has me on.

I will have more information on mission partners in a few weeks. But I ask you to begin praying now about your commitment to this journey. Maybe you will be able to say a Rosary once a week, or sending a monetary donation to fund domestic/international Mission trips. Maybe you could offer a daily mass for the Missionaries, or pray for the teens, Youth Ministers and Core Members that will be attending Life Teen Summer Camps this year. Or for the Missionaries that God is calling, and asking for their YES.

If you are interested in recieving updates about the mission, want to be a mission partner, or are just interested in what we do send me your email address, so we can keep in contact.

I will be praying for you!

All prayer requests are asked to be sent to amanda.cassar@email.saintleo.edu

This is a preview of what the next two years have in store for me!

It's been....

It's been funny really.

There's no other way to describe what God is doing in my life. One day I think I've got it all figured out and then BOOM out of left field he comes with something rather crazy.

Things I'm praying through right now:
Life Teen Mission Program
Life Teen Camp Photographer at Tepeyac
The way God is revealing himself in the past two incidents I've been involved in.

About 34 days left till I graduate...BRING IT ON

Oh what a semester

It has been far to long since my last blog and there are way to many things to catch up on.

But as I'm reflecting about this summer, and next year I remembered this old saying

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Pray for my YES to God's plan. He's laid it out in front of me but I'm scared to say yes.

Signs and Wonder

I never really understood why people prayed for signs and wonder. This summer I have become more aware of what the Lord was doing in the lives of others with their signs. The Benzinger family and hundreds of others prayed for months for their children to come home and they did. The Martin family was docile to the Holy Spirit and now they are married and have a baby on the way.

I was just sitting here confused...until yesterday. I had to give a speech at Matriculation yesterday and I was beyond nervous. As I was in my apartment getting ready to go speak I was fumbling around my apartment, and their was a town of butterflies in my stomach. When I went to brush my teeth I grabbed my toothbrush and almost put my deodorant on it, instead of toothpaste. THAT is how nervous I was. So I took a few minutes to myself and prayed, and I texted my pray worrier sisters and asked them to pray also.

As I was sitting on the stage I kept looking around for a familiar face to grab a smile from. Someone to ease my nerves. But I just couldn't make eye contact with any of my sisters. So I looked up, and right on the back wall was the crucifix. Right there, staring at me the ENTIRE time. My best friend was already there and I could do nothing but smile. I started to get a little more anxious when they were calling my name and I was able to see a bit of the flowers right in front of the podium and there were yellow roses right in front of me. Now those yellow roses are very symbolic for me. It is the flower of my sorority, it represents friendship, and it is the flower I have tattooed on my foot in memory of Nan.

God provided peace and calm in my heart at that time. If I wasn't aware of the way he was moving in my heart and the signs and wonders he was performing I wouldn't have felt calm. Praise God for his plan, and moving mountains in my heart.

I do have to speak again at 4pm, so prayers would be greatly appreciated!

21!?

I turn 21 in about 4 hours......woot!

I'm pretty stoked for tonight because the people who I love will be together, minus a few. But still God has totally provided for sisters to come visit for the night. An added bonus is getting to have a sleep over in my apartment with all of them after, which I never had a birthday sleepover, so that's pretty epic.

At dinner tonight I was talking with two of my sisters about how after you turn 21 there aren't many big or memorable birthdays to look forward to. When you turn 10 it's your first double digit age, then 13 your finally a teenager. 16 you get a big party, and your learners permit. 17 you get your drivers license, 18 you can vote. 19 is your last teenage years, 20 is your first twenty, 21 your legal. Then what? You die? Oh at 25 you can rent a car..woot.

As I was reflecting about what's next after 21 it hit me, HEAVEN! Duh! I mean how exciting is heaven going to be. It's like a birthday everyday because you can see the people whom you love the most daily! How beautiful is that.

So today I pray for you and the gift you have been in my life. Thanks Mom and Dad for choosing life.
